Whoever translated the iconic line from Gone with the Wind—"Tomorrow is another day"—as "Tomorrow, another sun will rise(in Korean translation)" must have truly understood the power of sunrise.
For those enduring time that seem to hold no hope, the beginning of a new day can become something to cling to. The simple certainty that the sun will rise again gives meaning to the act of carrying on.
Perhaps the most hopeful quotes are often born from the deepest despair.
On Christmas morning, as the first light spread across the sea, I was reminded of the birth of Jesus—the Light who came into the world.

For immigrants, there is nothing as deeply missed as the landscape of home. On the way across Seongsu Bridge, from the north side to the south side, the fading sun is setting, as if telling me that one chapter of my life has passed and that it is time to embrace a new one.
